Science double degrees in the making!

I am so happy to say that we have made fantastic progress in developing two double degrees with the Universidad Autonoma Barcelona.

This is one of our Dean of Science’s many brain children! Dr. Tom Dickinson is putting together a program which would award students a TRU BSc in Cell, Molecular and Microbial Biology and a UAB BSc in Biology. As well, students could choose to follow a program in which they’d receive a TRU BSc in Chemical Biology and a UAB BSc in Chemistry.

double degree UAB and TRU

And this is how it all starts! Not too high-tech, but a viable blueprint.

We are delighted to provide these international pathways to Science degrees. A big shout-out to our fantastic Catalan sister university, Universidad Autonoma Barcelona, and the decanal staff in Chemistry, especially Antoni Mendez and Lluis Casas, and in Biology, notably Josep Vendrell and Inma Ponte.

Now, I shepherd the plan through our approvals system–ditto UAB. We hope to have it all set up for students for Fall 2016.

Once finished, TRU will be offering three double degrees in Europe, so far: one in Tourism at NHTV Breda, Netherlands, and these two BSc in Barcelona.

TRU and UAB are working hard to provide our students with opportunities to study and be awarded credentials in Europe and Canada. And we love doing it!

It’s not just that students learn in another type of classroom–the entire experience is a learning one. TRU/UAB students: change your life AND add a European/Canadian credential to your home one. Let us help you do both.
